History Wiseguys Construction
Wiseguys Construction, LLC was founded in 2002 by Bill Crowley. In early 2014, looking to expand its business, Wiseguys acquired Max Construction, LLC, whose principal owner, Jason Maxwell, joined forces with Wiseguys as an owner of the company. Since its inception, Wiseguys Construction has established itself in Ottawa, Franklin County, and the surrounding area as a general contractor providing construction services for commercial, residential, and restoration projects.
Wiseguys Construction's projects range from residential remodels, new residential construction, commercial remodels, up to two million dollar new commercial facilities.
Prior to 2002, Bill spent 12 years working for a local surveying and engineering firm. In 2002, he made the decision to pursue his passion in the construction industry. Bill's goal of offering quality construction services in Ottawa and the surrounding communities has led to Wiseguys continued growth. This is evidenced by the fact Wiseguys continues to expand its restoration business as well as its commercial business of which many projects are for repeat customers.
In 2012, Bill attained notoriety by joining Extreme Home Makeover as a project manager during the rebuilding of Joplin, Missouri following the damage it incurred from a devastating tornado. Amongst hundreds of nominees, Bill was awarded HGTV/DIY "Contractor of the Year" and was a finalist for "Tradesperson of the Year." Other services to his community include his continued involvement as the President of "Professionals Helping Children," service on the Board of Zoning Appeals, and service on the Franklin County Planning Commission.
In 1992, Jason graduated from the University of Kansas with a B.S. in Business Administration. He also obtained a J.D. from the University of Kansas School of Law. Jason's construction career began in college when he helped pay his way through school by working for a local electrical contractor. After graduation he worked for a short time as a framing and trim carpenter in the Kansas City area.
Thereafter, Jason began general contracting in residential construction. In 1998, he was afforded the opportunity to contract the new Hasty Awards office and manufacturing facility. Since that time, Jason continued to grow his previous company, Max Construction, to include several commercial projects while continuing his work in the residential area. Most notably, in 2008 Jason was awarded the contract on the new 30,000 sq. ft. Hasty Awards office and production facility located in the Industrial Park area of Ottawa, Kansas.
In early 2014, Jason joined forces with Wiseguys Construction as a principal in the company. Since that time, Wiseguys has continued to grow focusing more in the commercial area while maintaining its roots in residential construction.
